Hi,

I studied Ancient & Modern history of Egypt at Helwan University in Cairo. Graduated in 1993 and since then I have been an avid reader of history and sociology.

My greatest passion is people’s lives and how economy and traditions affects the community. Egypt is one of the oldest in the world when it comes to traditions. We preserved many of our Ancient traditions. The heritage of Egypt social life is a great wealth of information and stories.

Sharing my culture and my views had been always the reason of my success as a guide. since currently I’m running our family owned travel agency, i do not go guiding much. Therefore, I’ll share and guide online.

I hope you enjoy.

  1. Hi, Basem,

I traveled with the EarthLight group in 2009. We have been thinking about, and worrying about, you and the other friends we made during that trip–happy for your country while at the same time fearing for you as individuals, and hoping you may be safe from harm. It is a horrible and wonderful and glorious time you are going through, and the world will be a better place for what Tunisia and Egypt have led it through.
I hope that the sectarian violence of the yesterday and today will soon be a thing of the past and that all Egyptians can live together in peace and celebrate the diversity that is found within your society. Perhaps you can help lead the entire Middle East out of the terrible times it has experienced.

    God be with you all
    الله يكون معك

    1. Hello David,
Thanks for your comment. I Really hope it passes with minimal damage. I’m writing a new post now about the current events. it a bit scary, specially if we did not deal with it wisely.
